I read this article on CNN about Quentin Tarintino and I wondered if he’s got anything coming out in the near future, or if he’s too busy doing whatever the fuck he does when he’s not making movies. So I looked him on IMDB.
He’s supposed to bedoing Machete, which was the faux movie trailer associated with Death Proof, which I saw and liked the Robert Rodriguez half but not so much the Tarintino half. Contrary to Tarintino’s assertion in the afore mentioned article that people either love or hate his movies, I did not not this movie of his. I just didn’t think it was very good. Same with the Kill Bill movie. They were okay, but no great shakes. I am a big fan of Resevoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, but then who isn’t.
The other project Tarintino’s got going it titled Inglorious Bastards, a pretensiously pulpy title, but of course that is T’s than, which, based on the plot synop….
Set in World War 2, Tarantino’s story revolves around group of soldiers on their way to be executed, only they get the chance for a reprieval. He describes them as “Not your normal hero types that are thrown into a big deal in World War II.” This is the only information he will release at present.
…ounds like a remake of the Dirty Dozen, but then I’ve been hearing for years that he’s wanted to do this. At one point there was a rumor that he was going to cast Sly Stallone and Arnold in it, but obviously that can’t happen now. Could you imagine? How lame. Accoring to IMBD it’s slated for 2010 and has Tim Roth (Pulp Fiction) and Michael Madsen (Resevoir Dogs) attached. We’ll see if it’s any good. I’m not holding my breath, though.
